Capt. Tarun Gulati joined First Citizens' Maritime Finance Business team in August 2019 responsible for risk associated with the physical asset and maritime markets.
Tarun has a career spanning over 30 year –17 years in the maritime industry, 12 years banking and 2 years as an entrepreneur. He started his career at sea and was promoted to Captain at the age of 27. He has experience in technical management and commercial management (responsible for chartering and operation). In 2006, Tarun joined DVB Bank SE, Netherlands. As Senior Vice President, he was a core member of DVB’s prestigious research team for five years, followed by seven years within the Special Projects unit working on restructuring.
Tarun holds a deep-sea unlimited Master Mariner’s license from the UK and has also earned a Masters in Shipping Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, London, UK.
